Self-Reliance

This year I decided to start wrestling for the school. At first, I did it as kind of a joke but, then I started too really like it. Although it did start out like it was a joke, I did have a real reason for doing it, to stay conditioned for soccer. Soccer is my sport, my true passion. Wrestling works out a different group of muscles than soccer so I will be all around stronger.
When I first began wrestling, my new friend, Aaron Michael Gillespie, always made fun of me. He, Aaron Michael Gillespie, would give me mat burn on my face and belittle me, in a funny way. This made me want to quit. Then, I realized I should just try harder to prove him, Aaron Michael Gillespie, wrong. So, I hung in there.
I became devoted to wrestling and made all sorts of friends, like Zach and Austin. I’ve known them since freshman year, but we bonded over wrestling. I have also made many new friends, like Fidel and Randy. Fidel had just started too so, he was new to wrestling also.
My quote, “Do what you must, and your friends will adjust”, by Robert Brault. This quote fits in with my paper because I had many friends but, when I started wrestling I made many more. My old friends at first did not really like that I was wrestling but, now they are fine with it.
Now that wrestling has really started, I know what it means to the people that have been doing it for years. I have more respect for it because I know how hard it is on someone.
